Air pollution threat to children’s playtime in UK cities, says Play England

After the Mayor of London announced a pollution warning across London this week, many are deeply concerned that worsening air quality in Britain’s cities is threatening children’s school break times. Play England argues that the best way to tackle air pollution is by introducing traffic exclusion zones near schools, not by banning children from playing outside. Traffic bans outside schools have been introduced in Edinburgh with success, it says, and are an example that should be followed.[read more]
