    The University of Cambridge has launched a new research centre dedicated to the role of play and playfulness in young children’s learning and development. The Centre for Research on Play in Education, Development and Learning (PEDAL) is part of the Faculty for Education. Part of the remit of the new centre is to explore the potential of play-based approaches within educational contexts. Play remains a relatively under-researched area within developmental science, and PEDAL aims to address this.
